Dream LIV

I was driving along some narrow, tree-lined streets in the downtown area of an old city. Traffic was heavy, and there were a lot of old men in dark clothes driving small cars, who were zipping in and out of the lanes very rapidly. I started driving faster in order to stay away from them, when all of a sudden, rounding a hill, I saw some kind of barrier in the road ahead. It looked like tree trunks that had fallen across the road, and I braced myself for impact, but they turned out to be made of paper and I sailed right through them.

I found a parking space and went back to see what was happening. The paper had been placed on the bottom of a tree trunk, and I could see that instead of looking like tree bark, it looked like elephant skin.

I stepped closer for a better look, and a little girl told me that the paper was a representation of an escaped zoo elephant that had tried to knock the tree down with his head, and had injured himself. The tree trunk showed signs of a massive impact, about half-way up.
