Dream CXX

I was going to visit my friend Tom, but his father had forbidden him to have guests.  So after putting on my thickest coat, I had to crawl through the window in his room.

I walked over to his closet to put my coat in, and almost immediately his father entered the room, pinning me against the closet doorframe.  He didn't see me, and he and Tom spoke for a while.  Eventually he left, and when the door closed I couldn't see Tom.

I decided I had to crawl up the wall, so I slowly inched my way upward.  After a long time had passed, I realized that my heavy coat prevented me from being able to see anything, including how high I was.  I decided I would drop back down to the ground, and I landed with a painful thud.

I walked over to where Tom sat at his computer.  He offered me a drink.  "How much alcohol is in this?" I joked, and Tom said it was just fruit juice.  I noticed that the table was covered in stray ice cubes.  But the juice tasted very good.

As Tom continued to work at his computer, I looked at the large television behind him.  It was showing the opening credit sequence of a program, in which a helicopter flew over a river that ran through a city.  There were bridges spanning the river shown in great detail, and further down the river, I could see that other bridges were assembling themselves and disassembling themselves as they were needed.

It looked like a fantastic show, and I remarked that to Tom.  He pointed to several large disused and dusty console television sets on the floor behind him.  "It would look even better on one of those," he said.  I noticed that beyond the working TV was what appeared to be an enormous game room, with several people in there.

Just then, I heard the familiar voice of Kevin Conroy speaking from the television.  On screen there was a CGI cartoon showing Robin helping an extremely fat Batman escape from a gorilla.

Tom suggested we go into the game room.  We went in and he sat down at an identical computer table.  He then asked if I could pick up some plastic pill containers that were scattered among some more ice cubes on the floor.  I started to do so, and across a small pool a little girl was gathering up brightly colored beads and stones, singing along to the music on the television set.
