Dream CLIX

I was staying in a set of rooms in a grand resort.  The resort was going through some renovations to become more in the modern mode, and I was assisting them.

Sometime in the morning, the intercom rang that David, the interior builder, was on the way and needed to discuss some plans with me.  I looked around my rooms, which were completely disheveled, and said that I would need a few minutes.  But David and his assistant were already outside the door, and rang the bell impatiently.

I noted all the trash around the rooms, and the unclean kitchen and bathroom, and prepared my apologies.  I went to the door and let them both in, but suddenly remembered that my cat was in the bedroom and would be put out by the sudden visit.  David and his assistant took out their tape measures, triangles and other measuring tools and went to work; I excused myself to get dressed and went into the bedroom.

My cat, sitting up on the bed, was already alarmed by the intrusion, but was even more alarmed by the new occupant of the room--a small Corgi puppy.  The puppy jumped up from the tangle of bedclothes on the floor and began barking.  I knelt to calm the puppy and saw that he had a nametag that said his name was "Hug."  He also had a collar which spelled out, "His name is HUG."

Hug was very cooperative in calming down, though my cat was skeptical.  I went back into the main rooms and saw that David and his assistant had left.

I dressed hastily and went into the courtyard to try and find them, but though I searched through many areas of the resort, I couldn't find them.  I did realize, though, that I was lost.

I asked several members of the staff for help, but few could help me.  One old lady suggested I follow the trail I'd left of keys and credit cards, and I suddenly knew I had left bits of my wallet everywhere in my attempt to find David.

I crawled along the cobblestones and circular stone steps, finding most of my keys and the most important credit cards, and finally I saw my door in the distance.

The light in the sky was growing dim, I figured once home I could cancel the credit cards I couldn't find.  At last things seemed to be coming together.
