Dream CXCIX

I was thinking about moving to somewhere new, and was looking over things I could get rid of in preparation.  I picked up the flash for my camera and idly considered it, when I realized that there was no way I was going to get rid of that.

However, it reminded me that I wanted to find some kind of camera-steadying system.  I went to the local sporting good store, noting suddenly that my camera flash and it's power cord were stuck to my pants leg.  I gathered them up and stuffed as much as I could into my pocket.

At the store, a nice middle-aged lady wanted to show me what they had in my price range.  The first was a long strip of a Velcro-like material.  The idea was that I could wrap this around my arm, it would keep my arm from moving too much.  I tried to test it, but the material kept sticking to everything, including my flash power cord, which it pulled out of my pocket.  The saleslady apologized and went to look for something else.

She brought back something that looked like a jointed arm.  There was a spool of wire that it worked with.  The lady was trying to find an area on the floor where she could anchor the spool.

I looked and noticed that at some places where four floor tiles intersected, there was a blue area that appeared to be made of chalk.  The spool had a spike in the bottom, and she was trying to drive it into the blue areas, but she couldn't get it deep enough.  In frustration, she told me "There are deeper areas in the winter sports section.  We'll try there."

She left, and returned wearing a heavy winter coat.  I started to ask if I needed a coat, but she walked through the doors to another section and I quickly followed.  She crossed the room and opened a vault-like door.  I was expecting a rush of cold air, but the temperature inside was completely normal.

The blue spots here were much larger, and she tried planting the spool.  But she frowned.  It still wasn't deep enough for her liking.
