Dream CCVI

I was driving to work during a heavy rainstorm.  I was in the leftmost-but-one lane and, as I was approaching the city outskirts, a gigantic tree limb fell into the far left lane and shattered, blocking the entire lane.

Wow, sucks if you were in that lane, I thought, and drove on.  The limb hadn't fallen on anyone, but I couldn't see if anyone was able to avoid it.

Around a curve, the highway expanded into six lanes forward, but I could see that water was building up on the road.

I thought that I ought to moving my car into the right-most lanes, as my exit was coming up.  I started moving over, in an area where there were no other cars, but my car started water-planing, and I lost control, sliding over toward the right shoulder.  Fortunately, there were no other cars, so I slid to the shoulder without incident.

After a moment to catch my breath, I went forward into the right lane, and continued on.
