Dream CCXXV

I was driving in a series of roads in a mountainous nature park.  It was raining heavily, and I and Rich Evans--who was driving a car similar to mine--were on the lookout for possible flooding problems or stranded motorists.

We had checked a road that led into a crossroads; we could see that the left-hand road was fine, and he was going to check the secondary branch.  I continued to the top of a nearby hill that I was going to use as an observation post.

I turned to look behind me and I could see that a dam of fallen trees had broken, and a huge rush of water was heading down the secondary branch toward Rich Evans.

I left the car and shouted frantically at him; he was luckily able to turn around.  He drove up to the same vantage point I had, but drove too far and his car went over the cliff.

Fortunately, both he and the car were fine, but the car was stranded in the building water.  He got into my car and we returned to our makeshift headquarters.

After some time, the rain stopped, and everyone got out to look at the new landscape.  The sun was out, and we could see a bright sky with scattered clouds stretching all the way to the horizon. From atop the ridge we had chosen, we could see the layers of forest beneath the waters.  One young lady in a nightgown wondered if we’d be able to return.  I told her we’d just have to wait.
