Dream CLXXIX

I was moving out of the house and needed to drop off a few things I no longer needed, so I got into the car and drove west.

On the way, I decided to stop in one of the branch offices of a dental surgery company.  I went in to fill out some paperwork.

I noticed then that I was only wearing underwear, but figured I'd be quick and no one would care.

As I was filling out the paper, I noticed water on the floor all around me, and felt a fine spray raining down on me.  Others noticed it as well, and I looked up and saw that the roof was leaking.

I tried to find Michelle, the office manager, to alert her, but just then the amount of water increased.  With a loud noise all the plaster on the ceiling suddenly cracked and fell all over the waiting room.  People screamed above the noise, but fortunately no one was hurt.  "Don't panic," I yelled, but just to be safe I moved over to the wall and stood straight up against it, feeling this would be the safest place if the roof collapsed.

Since everything seemed to have quieted down, I then went outside.  A torrential rain was pouring down.  Areas of the parking lot were so flooded they looked like a swimming pool.  I was soaked to the skin instantly.  I picked up the items that were mine and went looking for my car

Others were outside, organizing what looked like recycling efforts.  I saw a giant pile of toys, and right next to it, a giant pile of the boxes the toys had been in.

I now found myself holding a huge amount of plastic bins, metal drawers and other odds and ends.  The bins fell out of my arms with a crash, but I managed to put the rest of the stuff neatly on the ground.  I took up the two items that were mine and resumed searching for my car.

I walked passed a little girl who was looking wistfully at a doll I'd been carrying.  "I'm sure you can probably have it," I told her.
