Dream LXIX

I was travelling on a bus through the city where the second Transformers movie was taking place, though whether it was actually happening or just being filmed was unclear. None of the other passengers seemed alarmed when, for example, a giant billy club shot out of the sky, landed right next to us, and began firing its energy weapon into the distance. In fact, one little girl on the bus proudly showed us her toy shaped exactly like the robot that had just landed. All the passengers got a kick out of it. I remember thinking that robot had to be a Decepticon, since none of the good robots could fly.

We contniued through the city. Off in the distance we could see a massive funeral procession moving along the main highway.

As we drove, the area started to become less populated. There were railroad tracks and large, factory-like structures set here and there in the greenery. Two small red robots that rode on railroad tracks chased each other, and we were a little worried they might hit us when the bus travelled over the tracks, but we were safe. Another insect-like robot was crawling over a factory in the distance, while being attacked by a huge green blimp robot. This robot was advertising Mountain Dew along its side.

I got off the bus before it left town and walked over to another factory. I looked inside to see if there were any robots there, but I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

I walked down the factory steps, thinking I would walk back into town. I met three well-dressed ladies who were coming up the steps; they asked me if I'd seen any cats, and I told them I hadn't. They worried that the robots had scared the cats away. They decided to return to town as well.

We walked along the main road but I could see the funeral procession in the distance coming toward us. As I could make out more details, I could see that there were robots among them. Some of the robots looked distinctly unpleasant, so I was pretty sure that this was a group of Decepticons; I warned the ladies, but they were certain they could find more information about cats from these people.

As the funeral procession neared us, I decided to avoid it and take an alternate road back. This meant crossing right in front of the procession and over the railroad tracks, but I decided I'd waited long enough.

So I crossed the road, right in between the first group of mourning robots and humans. For the most part, they didn't pay any attention to me. One robot, the size and shape of a light bulb, who had long spidery legs making him the same height as a man, turned and glared at me as I crossed behind him. He had an angry scowl that looked permanently painted on. Yes, these are the evil robots I thought.

I crossed over to the secondary road and began to make my way back to town.
