Dream LXXI

Voice actress Monica Rial and I were being sent to the International Space Station for a brief stay. The station was now owned and operated by Apple Computer.

The room we were assigned was large and nicely furnished and had a large window with (naturally) a spectacular view of space. There was only one bed, but there was a sofa and I told Monica I would take the sofa so she could have the bed.

She seemed to know quite a bit about the Station, and showed me a demonstration (using models on a diorama) that had a small red sphere being smashed by bits of rock as it moved along a track. Inside the sphere, I could hear voices talking about how this was helping to form the sphere’s outer skin. I wasn’t sure how this related to the Space Station, but I didn’t say anything.

I was fairly exhausted by this point, so I told Monica I was going to brush my teeth and sleep on the sofa. As I was doing so, she dressed in a robe and seemed prepared to do the same. She said, though, that she was going to step out “just for a moment” then be right back.

I left the light on so that she could find her way around the room when she got back, but several hours went by. I got worried, so I went out to look for her. I found someone in charge who told me that Monica had found an interesting party and was in attendance there, and might not be back for some time.

I went back to the room, feeling better that she had found something to do.
