Dream LXXXVIII

I was assigned to take small moments of time and dramatize them, given a few characters and some actions. The first was about a Japanese man who moved into a New York neighborhood. The year was 1947, and I knew the theme would be post WWII prejudice. I didn't want to do the show, so I shook the drama, trying to change the date. But all I could do was change it to 1942. I've made it worse, I thought.

I looked at the hundreds of floating moments I was supposed to dramatize and saw that they were all going to be Twilight Zone type "lesson learned" things. I didn't want to do any of them unless I could change them to more normal dramas, without the obvious lessons. But they seemed to fixed. The only way to change them was to make them worse.

It began to snow heavily. The moments floated in the air while the large snowflakes fell around them.
